I haven't been to a chinese restaurant in a lttle while, but I picked up a book: Alfred Doeblin presents the living thoughts of Confucius. So....until I eat out again I will post from this book.
Confucius on "the cultivation of the person depends on the rectifying of the mind" :
"When the mind is not present,we look and do not see;we hear and do not understand;we eat and do not know the tast of what we eat."
My understanding of this is that if you don't have your mind right, nothing you do will be successful.

Found old fortune in toolbox
This fortune reads: "The man who rows the boat doesn't have time to rock it."
What I take from this is that the person doing the work is often times the target of criticism...by those who are merely bystanders. Backseat drivers if you will.
